Day -- 2 Obedience

Hello! Well it did warm up here yesterday to a sooo hot 78! I think I am called to live in a place like this!

Okay, I forgot to mention yesterday a BIG THANK YOU to Brenda...She has been so awesome! She has taken a week away from home, work and family to come and drive us up here. She is staying with my mom, Chad's mom and my two wild kids. I think she is having a good time but I am thanking God for her everyday. She is a women that will do ANYTHING to help someone and we love her! Thanks Brenda for coming and driving us.

Well, I told ya'll God was going to do something! He did last night! We had an AWESOME worship time with Addision Road and a great message from Gods word out of James from Ben Stewart. Last night Ben said something that really stood out and he said "Who you are WILL define what you do. So who are you?" God is at work in our students lives and in my life as well. I just wish you could all see these students stand with 1,500 other kids and hear them sing out "oh How he loves us" or "blessed be your name" I am so excited! (Even if we are all running on ohhh 4-6 hours of sleep)!

During the evening hang time after worship and church group time we got to spend some time just meeting other students and chatting with some of ours. The kids are meeting other kids from other states and towns and really making some good friendships. I am thankful for this because it is something they will remember.

Today in Bible study the were studying about Daniel and I am excited to hear what they have to share with us tonight.

The M-Fuge groups are having a good time.
Krista -- Working with kids. She has one little boy that has fallen in love with her and wants her to come back everyday...forever! I think she is so good with kids and I know God is using her in their lives!
Kami -- Poor Kami went to a nursing home today...Alzheimer's unit. That is a hard place for anyone to go. She freaked out because it is just a different kind of place. But, she is doing so good and really has a heart for people. She said to me "you know one day I am going to be old and no-one is going to want to talk to me." So, I think she is learning things and seeing God work in the lives of people.
Nicole -- Is meeting new people and she also went to the nursing home and used her talent of being in the skits there.
Landy, Chad and Justin -- They are doing work at a Church in Santa Fe and laid rock and did some yard work today. They are working hard and learning how to do all this stuff so they can come home and start a Landscaping business...

During Track times yesterday we got some great pictures. Have I mentioned how great our sponsors are. I haven't gotten a good picture of Boyd but don't worry I will...I have been telling him I have signed him up for the talent show auditions but he is refusing to go...buzz kill. It is hard to get some of everyone because they are sooo spread out. But, I am working on it. My plan tomorrow is to go and get pictures of all of our kids doing what they do.

Day One -- Love

Hello from the wonderful Mountains of New Mexico! We had some trip up here. We had our first potty stop in Clovis New Mexico which was with out event. Next up was Santa Rose were we ate lunch at a Carls Jr. inside a truck stop. The plan was McDonalds and well that must have been the plan for at least half of the camps 1,500 people. Shortly outside of Santa Rose we had one student get sick on the busy so we had to pull over and take care of that. Just car or bus sickness! Easy for me to say as I was in my own car. Anyway shortly after that we ran into a major rain storm that stayed with us the rest of the way. As we left Santa Rose it was 89 degrees as we pulled into Glorieta there was so much pea size hail that covered that grown in looked like snow. The Temp. was 48. So....I am sad I did not bringing any jeans! Anyway it is COLD in the mornings and COLD and night and NICE during the day...I am sure you are all jealous at this point!

We got to camp and got everyone into their rooms and then it was off to dinner in the Dining Hall, then Worship and on to Church Group time. God is already working in the lives of these students. It is soo exciting for Chad and I to get to see these kids fall on their face before the living God! The Band and Camp Pastor on wonderful. I am so excited to see what God has in store and I have to believe it is wonderful...I can just feel it.

The word or Theme for the day today is Love...and we are talking about how God is love and how we should love. I am so excited about worship tonight I just almost can't sit here and type!

On the MFuge note. Kami and Nicole on together at a mission site doing fun things with kids and working with other people from other churches. Krista is working at a Rec. site doing some neat things and the boys Chad, Landry and Justin are doing mowing, painting and such. They are out now on site and I can't wait to hear how their day has gone. The other sponsors are out and about doing crafts, Laser Tag and we are just enjoying being here in a wonderful place! If you talk to your students remind them to drink WATER we are WAY UP and we are starting to see some altitude sickness. Not much but a little.

Oh before I go one more thing....there are about 1,500 students here at camp this week. Last night we had a time called Night Life and played a really fun Game...anyway out of the whole camp that is here our church group won the game. There is a church here with 165 kids, one with 115 and our group of 34 took the gold!!!! Wahoo Lockney! It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time!

Here are some pictures and I am sure I will have wonderful things to share tomorrow!

Love you all!!!

The Eagle has landed!!!

Okay....Chad is back and I have never been so glad to see his face! Along with Kalebh and Kaileigh as you well know Kaileigh was missing her Daddy BIG time....anyway I just wanted to let you know that...after a delay because American Airlines didn't put seats...in seats so they had to wait for them to add two seat padding's to the seats...then in Dallas the plane was missing...they didn't know where it was...I said...well I'm glad you aren't on a missing plane...anyway they found the plane 2 hours later and he was on the way to LBK...then he gets to LBK and his bag is missing....but it is found and he is home...and he is resting up from this trip to get ready for the next trip....

ALL campers PLEASE be at church in the morning. We have a special prayer time and we want you ALL to be a part of it! Please, please please...I'm begging!

The start of something great!

Hello! Chad and I hope this turns out to be something that you parents and you students can use to stay in contact and know what is going on. The other reason we are going to use this blog is to update you while we are on trips. Many of you are friends with us on Facebook but there are somethings we don't put out there. So we want this to be a place you can come the week we are at camp and read about the things your kids are doing but more important than that to read about the things God is doing in your students life.
We are glad you found us! Please book-mark this page. It isn't always easy to find :)
Please please please join Chad and I as we are praying for the students of Lockney. We are praying that God will do GREAT things next week while we are in New Mexico. He has ALWAYS shown himself to be true to us. So let us go to him and ask for the things we hope for!

Thanks for sharing your kids with us,
Chad and Katie
