Hello from the wonderful Mountains of New Mexico! We had some trip up here. We had our first potty stop in Clovis New Mexico which was with out event. Next up was Santa Rose were we ate lunch at a Carls Jr. inside a truck stop. The plan was McDonalds and well that must have been the plan for at least half of the camps 1,500 people. Shortly outside of Santa Rose we had one student get sick on the busy so we had to pull over and take care of that. Just car or bus sickness! Easy for me to say as I was in my own car. Anyway shortly after that we ran into a major rain storm that stayed with us the rest of the way. As we left Santa Rose it was 89 degrees as we pulled into Glorieta there was so much pea size hail that covered that grown in looked like snow. The Temp. was 48. So....I am sad I did not bringing any jeans! Anyway it is COLD in the mornings and COLD and night and NICE during the day...I am sure you are all jealous at this point!
We got to camp and got everyone into their rooms and then it was off to dinner in the Dining Hall, then Worship and on to Church Group time. God is already working in the lives of these students. It is soo exciting for Chad and I to get to see these kids fall on their face before the living God! The Band and Camp Pastor on wonderful. I am so excited to see what God has in store and I have to believe it is wonderful...I can just feel it.
The word or Theme for the day today is Love...and we are talking about how God is love and how we should love. I am so excited about worship tonight I just almost can't sit here and type!
On the MFuge note. Kami and Nicole on together at a mission site doing fun things with kids and working with other people from other churches. Krista is working at a Rec. site doing some neat things and the boys Chad, Landry and Justin are doing mowing, painting and such. They are out now on site and I can't wait to hear how their day has gone. The other sponsors are out and about doing crafts, Laser Tag and we are just enjoying being here in a wonderful place! If you talk to your students remind them to drink WATER we are WAY UP and we are starting to see some altitude sickness. Not much but a little.
Oh before I go one more thing....there are about 1,500 students here at camp this week. Last night we had a time called Night Life and played a really fun Game...anyway out of the whole camp that is here our church group won the game. There is a church here with 165 kids, one with 115 and our group of 34 took the gold!!!! Wahoo Lockney! It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time!
Here are some pictures and I am sure I will have wonderful things to share tomorrow!
Love you all!!!
